It can be difficult to know where to start your search for information when you're completing a written assignment, so we've created a series of videos to help you with your research.
The video above is the third in the Lib and Learn series and it takes you through some basic strategies to get the most out of your online searches. The other two videos offer more general information about our academic databases.
Academic databases are a great resource for you to use because, unlike Google, the information stored is carefully selected and reviewed. You still need to check that the data you find is current and relevant, but you don't have to worry as much about the authority (the qualifications and motivations of the creator).
Oh, and if you're watching the above video, or any of the others in the series, and thinking, "I could do better"; I BELIEVE YOU.
These videos are designed to educate, but honestly, it'd be awesome if they were also entertaining and engaging.
If you're an animator, film buff, YouTube wizard, or web designer come and talk to me. As you can see, when it comes to making videos I need all the help I can get!
It would be pretty neat if you talented peeps were making videos, posters and other cool things for each other :)
Until next time,
